Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated nurse to join our Extended Recovery Department team. As a nurse in this department, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to patients who require extended monitoring and support post-operatively or post-procedure. The schedule for this opportunity is per diem, 12-hour shifts, and is designated for the day shift. The per diem flat rate for this position is $78.524/hr. There is a minimum of 1 shift per week availability required for per diem positions.

As a successful candidate, you will:
- Monitoring and assessing patients' vital signs, pain levels, and overall condition during the Phase I and Phase 2 recovery periods, to ensure a smooth transition towards discharge.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosage and proper administration techniques.
- Recognizing and responding promptly to any changes in patients' condition, taking appropriate action to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Collaborating with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, addressing their unique recovery needs.
- Providing clear and thorough post-operative instructions to patients and their families, ensuring they understand and can follow the necessary steps for a successful recovery at home.
- Providing emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have regarding the recovery process.
- Maintaining a clean and organized recovery environment, adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in Nursing is required. If ADN only, must obtain BSN within three years of hire or transfer
- Current California RN license
- Minimum of 1 (one) year experience in an acute care setting and/or outpatient setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association
