As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play a vital role as a first assistant to our gastroenterologist. Join us as we continue our mission to provide exceptional care to our patients and make a meaningful impact in the fight against cancer.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Provides services that are accurate, reliable, courteous and timely.
- Supports the efforts of all care providers to deliver quality care.
- Assisting Surgeons: Collaborate closely with surgeons to provide support during surgical procedures, including retracting tissues, clamping blood vessels, suturing, and maintaining a clear operative field.
- Preoperative Preparation: Assist in preparing patients for surgery by reviewing medical histories, performing physical assessments, and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Intraoperative Support: Participate actively in surgical procedures by anticipating the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments and supplies as required, and maintaining sterile technique throughout the operation.
- Postoperative Care: Assist with wound closure, apply dressings, and provide postoperative care instructions to patients and their families.
- Demonstrates competence appropriate to their role and function in the delivery of age specific care.
- Delivers care in a manner consistent with the scope of practice of the discipline and the standards established by City of Hope as expressed in the plans for provision of care and policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates understanding of all professional and regulatory standards.
- Collaborates with colleagues to provide sound decision-making.
- Maintains current knowledge, skills and competencies through involvement in professional continuing education activities.
- Fosters involvement in performance improvement activities to promote continuous improvement in care delivery.
- Demonstrates assimilation of core organizational values within own performance.
Your qualifications should include:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program required
- Bachelor's degree ( new grad are welcome to apply)
- Unrestricted, Current California Physician Assistant license required
- Certified or eligible for certification by NCCPA
- Must have current DEA license
- Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification through American Heart Association
- Preferred prior experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
- Preferred (3) three years as a Physician Assistant
