City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.
With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn’t standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.
**This position will typically work mid shift- 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. Flexibility in shifts and weekend availability is required**

As a successful candidate, you will:
- Operate, inspect, repair and maintain water heaters, and operate auxiliary equipment.
- Operate and monitor chillers and chilled water loop throughout the campus.
- Perform service and preventive maintenance on all chillers, circulating pumps, control valves, etc.
- Perform service and preventive maintenance on all water heaters, feed pumps, control valves, etc.
- Monitor and operate the chilled water storage system in all phases.
- Operate and monitor cooling towers.
- Perform tests on water samples to determine and calculate proper chemical dosage for water heater and chiller system.
- Operate emergency generators/switchgear.
- Monitor and respond to energy management system.
- Coordinate with maintenance/engineering staff on any necessary issues arising from monitoring the Energy Management System throughout the campus.
Your Qualifications should include:
- Two years post High School Trade, Business or Professional school
- Five years related trades experience with HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and/or Utility Yard
- Experience working with a Hospital Facilities department
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Strong mechanical /electrical diagnosis skills
- Experience working on engines, generators, condensers, pumps, compressors, chillers and water heaters required
- Current CA driver's license and a good driving record for insurance purposes
