Position Summary
The Nurse Manager is responsible for all aspects pertaining to operational activities and program management within a designated grouping of clinics or units on a 7-day/week, 24-hour basis in collaboration with the Director, Nursing. The nurse manager is responsible for daily operations to meet financial, quality, and strategic initiatives and metrics. Using constructive problem solving, the nurse manager works collaboratively with peers, supervisor, physicians, advanced practice providers, subordinates, and all team members across the enterprise to achieve excellent patient outcomes and a workplace of choice.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the Infusion Clinic, ensuring that all nursing staff adhere to best practices and protocols for infusion therapy.
- Staff Management: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise nursing staff in the Infusion Clinic. Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to ensure staff competence and satisfaction.
- Patient Care: Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized infusion therapy plans for patients. Monitor patient progress and outcomes, and intervene as needed to ensure optimal care.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures to ensure the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of infusion therapy services. Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and hospital policies and procedures. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care activities and ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards.
- Resource Management: Manage the budget, equipment, and supplies for the Infusion Clinic. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements while maintaining high-quality care.
- Patient Education: Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding infusion therapy, including medication administration, side effects, and self-care techniques.
- Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to patient care by working closely with physicians, pharmacists, social workers, patient access, and other healthcare providers within the hospital.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or BSN not required if holds MSN)
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an area of expertise relevant to the department with demonstrated progressive leadership growth.
- California RN license
- American Heart Association-Basic Life Support (BLS)
- National Nursing Certification (or must be acquired within 12 months of hire or transfer)
