The City of Hope National Medical Center is looking for a highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Fellow to work in either of the following areas within the laboratory of Dr. Shoubao Ma, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Hematology and Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation and Comprehensive Cancer Center: 1) Natural Killer (NK) cell immunity, including the proliferation, survival, function, and exhaustion of NK cells, and develop NK or CAR NK cell-based therapies for cancer, autoimmune disorders, and inflammatory diseases 2) RNA modifications in immunity, including RNA Modifications in Immune Cell Homeostasis and Fate Decisions, RNA Modifications in Tumor Immune Evasion. The group conducts the most forefront science and is highly productive with publications in high-impact journals such as Nature Immunology, Cancer Discovery, Science Immunology, JEM, PNAS, etc. in the past five years.

As a successful candidate, you will:
- Devise, plan, document and advance basic science and translational projects in the relevant research area.
- Collect data for grant applications and prepare manuscripts for publication.
- Work in close collaboration with other team members and external partners.
- Train and supervise technical staff.
- You will have the unique possibility to drive research towards a novel cancer therapy at the interface of science and translation to the clinic and publish high-impact journals.
Your qualifications should include:
- Recent PhD with a strong background and profound knowledge in the field of either immunology, cancer immunology or immunotherapy.
- Previous experience in working with animal models, immunological assays, CRISPR screen, drug screen, and genomic assays (RNA-seq, m6A-seq, ChIP-seq, etc.)
- Literature knowledge of one of the two research areas mentioned above.
- Evidence of scientific rigor and excellence as documented by high-impact peer-reviewed publications.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both spoken and written.
