Pharmacist-Foundation Per Diem

The Pharmacist is a licensed healthcare professional responsible for delivering safe, comprehensive patient care. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as standards set by regulatory bodies such as The Joint Commission. Key responsibilities include medication management tasks such as analysis, verification, monitoring, compounding, and dispensing. As a medication management expert, the Pharmacist provides accurate drug information to healthcare providers, nurses, and clinical staff. Additionally, they oversee pharmacy technicians during shifts and support staff training and education. Collaboration with colleagues and exceptional customer service for both patients and staff are essential aspects of this role. Additional responsibilities may include quality and performance improvement initiatives or other tasks as assigned by Pharmacy Leadership.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Support and promote the efforts of all care providers to deliver quality care.
- Promote the delivery of quality care consistent with the scope of practice of the discipline.
- Ensure self-competence and promotes adherence to professional practice standards through education, training, coaching and monitoring.
- Participate with the Director and managers in the implementation and evaluation of new services/programs.
- Keep up-to-date with USP 797 & 800 guidelines and work with interdisciplinary team to ensure compliance.
- Maintain Pharmacy Technician IV compounding annual competencies.
- Effectively communicates/educates all customers to meet organizational goals and customer service expectations.
- Maintain current knowledge, skills and competencies through involvement in professional continuing education activities.
- Manage/supervise the efficient and effective utilization of resources and staff (technicians, students, interns, etc.) and serves as a role model in training programs.
- Prepare and dispense medications in strict adherence to department policies and procedures.
Your qualifications should include:
- Graduate of ACPE-accredited Pharmacy School or School with ACPE accreditation pending
- Current CA Pharmacist License
- BLS through the American Heart Association
Additional Information:
- Hourly Per Diem Rate: $86.25
