Our Radiopharmacy plays a central role in supporting innovative clinical and translational research by preparing and delivering high-quality radiopharmaceuticals that enable leading-edge imaging, diagnostics, and therapeutic studies. We are seeking a skilled and research-driven Nuclear Pharmacist to join this critical operation and contribute to the future of precision medicine. In this role, a successful candidate will function under the general supervision and broad direction of the Nuclear Pharmacist-in-Charge, collaborating closely with scientists, clinicians, and technical personnel to support both established and emerging research programs. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated Nuclear Pharmacist who thrives in a scientific environment and is excited by the opportunity to design, execute, evaluate, and present experimental results that directly influence patient-centered research.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Demonstrate intermediate to advanced expertise in radiopharmaceutical radiolabeling, compounding, quality control, and dispensing procedures.
Adhere strictly to radiation safety principles and institutional guidelines outlined in the Radiation Safety Manual.
Develop, initiate, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for radiolabeling, compounding, QC, and dispensing activities in alignment with Nuclear Pharmacy standards, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
Operate, calibrate, maintain, and perform QC on essential radiopharmacy instrumentation, including survey meters, dose calibrators, wipe test analyzers, Radio-ITLC systems, HPLC platforms, and gas chromatography systems.
Ensure Radiopharmacy Technicians receive appropriate training and oversight to carry out daily operations safely, accurately, and in full compliance with SOPs.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Nuclear Pharmacy practices and regulatory requirements, including NRC, FDA, and California State Board of Pharmacy guidelines.
Implement Nuclear Regulatory Commission provisions to support regulatory compliance, including dose calibrator consistency, linearity, and accuracy testing.
Collaborate in research efforts by designing experiments, executing procedures, evaluating outcomes, and presenting results to scientific and clinical teams.
Your qualifications should include:
Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) from an accredited pharmacy school.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory/research setting with demonstrated experience with radiopharmaceutical use.
Knowledge of USP 797, USP 823, and USP 825.
Current CA Pharmacist License or within 6 months of hire.
