City of Hope Medical Group Seeks an Academic Gastrointestinal Pathologist to Join our Growing Team
We invite you to consider an opportunity to join the Department of Pathology at City of Hope, the world-class NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Southern California. This non-profit institution with a national network of five main locations is one of the top-ranked cancer centers in the country and has an international reputation for the quality of patient care.
As part of our expanding focus on digestive system cancers and support of the Center for Precision Medicine, City of Hope National Medical Center is seeking an academic GI pathologist with expertise in gastrointestinal cancerswho is highly qualified and board-certified to meet the growing needs of our expanding Division of Anatomic Pathology. Position Highlights:
Provide patient-centered anatomic pathology services in collaboration with our nationally recognized and diverse team of oncologic physicians at City of Hope National Medical Center and Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles County, COH Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, and COH national cancer center sites in Phoenix, Chicago and Atlanta through our digital pathology initiative. This full-time anatomic pathology position reports directly to the Division Chief of Anatomic Pathology and the Vice Chair of the Department of Pathology.
· Clinical responsibilities include diagnostic pathology services to support the clinical care of patients with cancers of the digestive system.
· The successful candidate will:
o Join a multidisciplinary team of physicians and scientists in Southern California.
o Use digital pathology to provide digestive system pathology expertise in the COH national network.
o Develop and support translational and clinical research in gastrointestinal cancers.
o Participate in training of fellows in our ACGME-accredited programs.
· Generous salary and potential for sign-on bonus
Pay range: $310k-$480k *The salary range listed is exclusively for base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual compensation will be adjusted for experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors.

· City of Hope adds 20% of the IRS maximum for annual retirement contribution without match requirement.

· Applicants must have an MD or equivalent medical degree and possess, or be eligible for, an unrestricted California medical license.
· Board certification in Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology or equivalent and demonstrated multidisciplinary practice experience in the specialty of gastrointestinal pathology are required.
· Fellowship training in gastrointestinal pathology and experience in the diagnosis of complex gastrointestinal cancers in an academic cancer center is highly preferred.
· The candidate must possess excellent communication skills and experience in collaboration with gastrointestinal medical and surgical oncologists and researchers.
· Specialty expertise in pathology specialties in addition to GI pathology and medical license in Arizona, Illinois, or Georgia are desirable.
· Applicants must have evidence of research and publication productivity.
· Academic record consistent with appointment as Assistant or Associate Professor is preferred.
