The Facilities Mechanic III, under minimal supervision, performs a wide variety of routine repair, maintenance, fabrication and installation on structures, buildings, machinery, equipment, furnishings and systems as assigned by Engineering supervision and management
**Night shift typically works 11:00 pm to 7:30 am. Weekend availability is required.**
As a successful candidate, you will:
Provide services normally performed by these Engineering Trades: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Preventive Maintenance, Carpentry.
Provide assistance to other Engineering shops as necessary to complete work projects on schedule.
Install and repair equipment according to building and safety codes.
Operate power and machine tools and a variety of precision measuring instruments.
Select appropriate materials for assigned work.
Your qualifications should include:
High School Diploma 4 additional years of experience plus the minimum experience requirement may substitute for minimum education (College or Trade school preferred).
5 or more years applicable crafts experience. At least 2 years experience in HVAC, electrical, autoclave, locksmith, plumbing, advanced carpentry, or advanced painting trades.
Certification or demonstrated proficiency in 3 or more trades. At least one trade must include HVAC, electrical, autoclave, plumbing, locksmith, advanced carpentry, advanced painting. Other eligible trades include carpentry, painting, Maintenance Repair Rounds (MR.R) or automotive mechanics.
Current CA driver's license and a good driving record.
Trade certification preferred.
