Pay Rate: $63.81 - $92.53 per hour

Position Summary
The Diagnostic Radiology Clinical Nurse provides specialized nursing care to oncology patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures. This role ensures safe, compassionate, and high-quality care through clinical expertise, patient advocacy, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team including radiologists, technologists, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals. The nurse is responsible for patient assessment, education, sedation monitoring, procedure preparation, and post-procedure recovery in a high-acuity, technology-driven environment. This opportunity is for full-time, 10-hour shifts (4 shifts per week), and designated for the day shift (variable start times - earliest 5:30am, latest 9:00 am start time). The department is open Monday-Saturday. Call is required for this position.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric oncology patients during diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures (CT, MRI, PET, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy).
Assess patients pre-procedure for clinical stability, reviewing labs, medications, and allergies.
Administer moderate sedation and monitor patients per hospital sedation policy.
Manage vascular access devices (e.g., peripheral IVs, PICCs, ports) including insertion, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition; initiate emergency interventions as needed.
Educate patients and families about imaging procedures, sedation, and post-procedure care.
Provide emotional support to patients coping with cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Coordinate with radiologists, technologists, and transport teams to ensure efficient patient flow.
Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and safety huddles.
Assist in the development and implementation of radiology nursing policies and quality improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Participate in audits, data collection, and quality reporting related to radiology nursing practice.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in Nursing is required
- Current California RN license
- Minimum of three (3) years related experience (ER/ICU/IR experience preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association
- ACLS through American Heart Association
- PALS through American Heart Association
