The successful candidate:

Responsible for assessing patients’ nutritional status and intervening with appropriate medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and/or education to improve, maintain, or optimize nutritional status.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
Formulate and implement nutritional care plans based on assessment of patients’ nutritional needs, diet restrictions, nutrition support and physician care plans. Each RD will be able to manage a minimum of 12 patients daily.
Monitor and evaluates effectiveness of patients care plan. Document thoroughly and appropriately all nutrition care information in patient medical record.
Counsel and educate on nutritional support and nutritional management to patients and their families, physicians, paraprofessionals, the community and potential candidates for hire within the corporation
Collaborate with medical staff, nursing, pharmacy, and other hospital stakeholders to plan and implement patient care as necessary in meeting the nutritional needs of patients.
Monitor inpatient foodservice operations to ensure compliance with physician diet orders and quality standards. Assist with monthly foodservice in-service education. Sign off on foodservice competencies for inpatient meal delivery. Approve inpatient menus.

Integrate food and dietetic services into the hospital wide QAPI and infection control programs.
Responsible for clinical nutrition and nutrition support in coordination with the use of Telemedicine and the use of other nutritional services for patient care needs internally and externally as designated by CTCA.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of clinical dietician experience [oncology experience and/or advanced degree may reduce minimum years] or Certified Specialist in Oncology (CSO)
Education: Bachelor of Science in nutritional science
Licensure: Maintenance of Dietetic Registration
Certification: See Experience Requirement
