Pay Rate: $34.64 - $53.7 per hour

As a successful candidate, you will: 

The Adoption Specialist provides system expertise in the area of training and front-line end-user support.  The Adoption Specialist closely collaborates with the Lead Adoption Specialist, Physician Adoption Lead, Physician Liaisons, Super Users, Key Stakeholders, Informatics, IT teams and Training team to design and implement clinicians adoption strategies organization wide.  This individual would apply best practices with the goal of ensuring clinician adoption and comfort in both inpatient and outpatient environments.  The Adoption Specialist is able to work independently without close supervision and exercises independent judgment and discretion

  • Work independently as a first-line Electronic Health Record (EHR) support for nursing, physician and other end-users in the clinical environment.
  • Maintain a consistent and visible presence in clinical areas interfacing with end-users.
  • Independently provides training in the classroom setting as needed.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships and demonstrates patience when working with end-users of varying skill levels.
  • Develop collegial and trusting relationships with end-users.
  • Employ strategies to ensure implementation issues are effectively addressed in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Adoption Specialist, Physician Adoption Lead, Physician Liaisons, Super Users, Key Stakeholders, Informatics, IT teams and Training team to identify trends in clinician support issues. 
  • Demonstrate excellence in computer knowledge of systems required to perform duties.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by positive management of difficult behavior by end-users. Identifies situations that need assistance for resolution.
  • Promote a positive work environment by demonstrating a professional appearance and positive, professional communication.
  • Maintain current knowledge of system and updates, as well as policies that are supported by clinical applications.
  • Independently support users in maintaining workflow changes and system updates.
  • Coach, mentor and provide guidance to the Associate Adoption Specialists.
  • Attend meetings as required and participate on committees as directed. 
  • Maintain a positive image when dealing with department personnel and other City of Hope employees. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Your qualifications should include: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience may substitute 
  • Greater than 3 years of healthcare experience in an area of expertise. 
  • Training and high level support of clinicians on Electronic Health Record.
