City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.
With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn’t standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.
The Supervisor Food may work in any type of food location on City of Hope premises. This individual provides oversight at the direction of management to coordinate routine work activities of workers and/or service employees engaged in food operations. This individual will provide support to management in the daily oversight of key functions and employees during the normal course of business. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but City of Hope may identify other responsibilities of the position.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Responsible for the oversight of day-to-day activities of subordinates and assigns responsibility for specific work or functional activities as directed by management.
- Maintains key control of operations and responsible for activities to ensure opening, closing and daily procedures are completed.
- Assists in monitoring employee productivity and provides suggestions for increased service or productivity.
- Serves as a working lead supervisor coordinating activities of workers or service employees engaged in food operations
- Works with customers to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service and problem resolution.
- Performs day-to-day assignments in addition to supervision duties.
- Responsible for orientation and training of employees.
- Promotes the development of the foodservice team.
- Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
- Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
- Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
- Understands and follows all policies and procedures.
- Assists in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all employees.
- Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures and reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan.
- Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Your qualifications should include:
Preferred Education:
- High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Experience
Preferred Certification/License:
- ServSafe
- Certified Dietary Manager
Preferred Experience:
- Supervisor/ Manager Experience
Additional Information:
- Must be comfortable with Weekend and Holiday availability
