Pay Rate: $33.8 - $47.54 per hour

An opportunity to join us as a Research Operations Analyst is available at City of Hope.
Under direction the Research Operations Analyst supports daily research and finance operations within assigned portfolio. Assists with pre and post award activities including, but not limited to, proposal preparation, financial and progress reporting, and fund closeouts. Uses sound judgement and analytical thinking with a working knowledge of sponsor institutions (i.e. S2S proposal software, GAAP, ERP/PeopleSoft).
As a successful candidate, you will:
Research Administration & Financial Management:
Manage pre- and post-award activities, including proposal development and submission in collaboration with principal investigators, the Office of Sponsored Research, IRB, and other stakeholders.
Develop and edit proposal budgets, justifications, biosketches, and related materials, and assist with contract workflows, new agreements, and amendments.
Generate financial reports for assigned principal investigators and chart strings, and support departmental budget preparation, long-range financial planning, analyses, and initiatives.
Maintain accurate personnel expenditure and effort allocations, coordinate monthly and quarterly effort certification, and process corrective actions as needed.
Approve and reconcile purchase orders and chart string activity to verify appropriate expenses, available funds, and compliance with sponsor and City of Hope guidelines; support project closeout activities, including clearing encumbrances, closing purchase orders and subawards, and paying invoices.
Human Resources:
Under the direction of the BD/BM, coordinate requested personnel actions for department staff and faculty, including new-hire and NES onboarding, visa requests, AccessNet, login IDs, and Outlook access.
Department Support:
Support department business activities, including purchasing, facilities, travel, institutional reporting, and coordination of building and equipment safety, maintenance, and other services.
Coordinate lab safety training, lab coat services, and other general laboratory support.
Your qualifications should include:
Bachelor’s Degree (any discipline).
High School diploma or equivalent, and 6-8 years of experience in research administration may substitute for minimum education requirements.
2-3 years related experience in business administration and administrative analysis (budgets, grant accounting, facility or personnel support).
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, business administration, research administration, science, or related field is preferred.
2 years of experience in research administration is preferred.
