Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research.
Dr. Mingye Feng’s laboratory at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope National Medical Center is looking for a talented and highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow.
His laboratory employs cutting-edge techniques to understand mechanisms of macrophages in cancer immunosurveillance, identify immune checkpoints and ligands on various hematopoietic malignant and solider tumor cells with high-throughput screening and protein engineering approaches developed in the lab, and develop novel cancer immunotherapies targeting metastatic cancer cells. Cancer immunotherapy is one of the most important breakthroughs in the development of cancer treatment approaches. As one of the largest populations of immune cells in human body and the major components of primary tumors and the metastatic sites, macrophages are key effectors mediating tumor immunosurveillance. Macrophage-based cancer immunotherapy is considered one of the most promising fields in cancer immunology and the next generation of cancer immunotherapy. The lab is well supported by multiple grants from NIH and other research foundations.
All the research platforms have been well established in the lab. Translational medicine is highly promoted at City of Hope. The lab is collaborating with clinicians at the Helford Clinical Research Hospital at City of Hope to translate research work in the laboratory to clinically viable agents and therapies.

As a successful candidate, you will:
Utilize a combination of cell biological, molecular biological, cell engineering and immunological assays, large-scale high-throughput screening approaches (CRISPR screen, drug screen, etc.) and in vivo preclinical models to study interactions between cancer cells and macrophages and develop novel macrophage-mediated cancer immunotherapies.
Your qualifications should include:
A PhD in relevant field – cancer biology, immunology, or cell biology.
Excellent verbal and written skills and integral working ethics.
