About City of Hope Orange County
City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.
With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. The Physical Therapist II provides high-quality patient care and family education through evaluation, treatment planning, and the application of physical therapy techniques, following regulatory standards and the philosophy of City of Hope. This role serves as a rehabilitation consultant for complex patients, facilitating innovative and efficient treatment interventions, while also overseeing student internships, clinical education, and the development of clinical programs and treatment protocols.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Screen patients to determine need for intervention and initiates referrals as appropriate
- Evaluate patients using appropriate age specific tools. Interpret data in order to plan treatment
- Establish goals and treatment plans based on evaluation data, rehabilitation potential, discharge plans, and in coordination with goals and plans of patient, family and other care team members
- Modify treatment program according to patient needs and progress, terminates treatment appropriately, and develops appropriate discharge and post discharge plans
- Complete evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and third-party reimbursement reports per established departmental requirements
- Act as a preceptor to physical therapy and physical therapist assistant students
Your qualifications should include:
- Master’s degree from an accredited school
- 2 years of recent physical therapy experience
- Current Physical Therapist license in the State of California
- CPR Certification
- For pediatric service, CCS Panel provider or complete application within 60 days of hire or when hours attained.
- Note: For candidates with < 2 years of experience, the Physical Therapist I pay range is: $39.25/hr - $50.04/hr - $60.83/hr
