Position Summary
City of Hope is seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our exceptional team in the Endoscopy Department. As a Clinical Nurse, you will be an integral part of a specialized team that performs a wide range of endoscopic procedures critical to diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. This opportunity is for per diem (minimum of 1 shift per week availability), 12-hour shifts, and for variable shifts. This position is also eligible for a unit differential up to $2.23/hr additional.
Up to $2,000 Sign-on Bonus Available
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Endoscopic Procedure Assistance: Provide expert nursing care and support during various endoscopic procedures, including but not limited to Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), bronchoscopies, colonoscopies, cystoscopies, laparoscopies, laryngoscopies, mediastinoscopies, thoracoscopies, and upper endoscopy.
- Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' well-being by ensuring their safety, comfort, and understanding of the procedures. Monitor vital signs, administer medications as necessary, and provide emotional support throughout the process.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, anesthesiologists, and technologists, to ensure seamless patient care and the highest standards of clinical excellence.
- Infection Control: Implement and adhere to strict infection control protocols to maintain a sterile and safe environment for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete medical records, documenting the patient's condition, medications administered, and any complications during or after the procedure.
- Education: Stay current on the latest advancements in endoscopy and nursing practices, and provide education to patients and their families regarding pre-operative and post-operative care.
Your qualifications should include:
- Graduate from nursing school with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Graduate from a nursing school with a diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing and currently enrolled in a BSN program (must obtain BSN within two years of hire or transfer).
- Current California RN license
- Minimum of one (1) year related experience as a RN
- Requirement of 1-year perioperative experience or a formal Perioperative nursing specialty course completed prior to application or within 6 months of hire or transfer.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association
- ACLS through American Heart Association
- PALS through American Heart Association
