We are hiring an Occupational Therapist I! Our role will provide quality patient care and family training through evaluation, treatment planning, and the application and assignment of occupational therapy modalities and procedures in accordance with the regulations governing the practice of occupational therapy and in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the City of Hope National Medical Center.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Demonstrates entry level skills in developing treatment goals and plans based on evaluation data, rehabilitation potential, discharge plans, and in coordination with goals and plans of patient, family and other care team members.
Demonstrates entry level skill and creativity in implementing patient treatment programs which are safe, effective, and efficient.
Demonstrates entry level skills in modifying treatment plans according to patient needs and progress, terminates treatment appropriately, and develops appropriate discharge and post discharge plans
Completes evaluations, progress notes, reassessments, discharge summaries, and third-party reimbursement reports per established departmental, institutional and regulatory requirements within required time frames.
Follows all City of Hope and departmental policies.
Collaborates with physician and other healthcare professionals to ensure ongoing integrated patient care.
Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with patient and caregivers.
Assigns treatments to occupational therapy aides and occupational therapist assistants. Assesses quality of care provided.
Pursues professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to maintain certification/licensure, and/or keep abreast of latest trends in field; provides education to staff following attendance at seminars, workshops conferences.
Acts as a preceptor to occupational therapy and occupational therapist assistant students after working at least one year in current position.
Demonstrates competence with daily operations within
Continually contributes the department’s/hospital’s survey readiness.
Participation in case conferences and discharge planning activities.
Coordination with a CCS case manager for referral to a CCS-paneled provider or CCS MTU for the patient who may continue to require occupational therapy services after hospital discharge.
Your qualifications should include:
Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school
Entry level position, no experience required
Current Occupational Therapist license in the State of California, or licensed applicant status in the state of California
BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
For pediatric service, CCS Panel provider or complete application within 60 days of hire or when hours attained
Additional Information:
Hourly Per Diem Rate: $58.80/hour
