We are seeking a dedicated Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner to join our clinic. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive care to patients in a clinic-based setting. You will perform detailed patient assessments, reviewing and discussing symptoms, colonoscopy and endoscopy findings, biopsy, and lab results, and helping patients understand their care plans, ensuring each patient receives the most informed and effective treatment possible. This role requires 4/10-hour shifts in an outpatient clinic setting.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations and histories in an outpatient/ambulatory clinic setting.
- Interpret and communicate colonoscopy, endoscopy, biopsy, and lab results to patients in a clear, compassionate manner.
- Collaborate with attending physician and other care team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Educate patients on disease management, procedures, and follow-up care.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Provide timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EPIC)
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and help streamline workflows within the clinic.
- Experience in gastroenterology or related field preferred (internal medicine, primary care)
- Prior experience in an ambulatory or outpatient setting strongly desired.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
Your qualifications should include:
Master’s degree, or Doctorate degree as a Nurse Practitioner
Three years of clinical experience
Current California RN license
Current California Nurse Practitioner license
Current California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing license.
DEA expected within 6 months of hire.
National Nurse Practitioner Board Certification thorough accrediting body
Specialty certification as defined/required for role.
Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
Current ACLS certification through American Heart Association
Preferred:
Adult, Gerontology, or Acute Care Credential
Five years of GI oncology experience
