Pay Rate: $119000.0 - $213832.0 per hour

We have an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant to join our extended recovery team in perioperative services at City of Hope, Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center. We are expanding patient care and are looking for an advanced practice provider to work per diem, nights in extended recovery. The advanced practice provider in extended recovery plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, you’ll be responsible for conducting thorough patient assessments, developing, and implementing tailored treatment plans, and monitoring the progress of patients. Your role will extend beyond the immediate post-treatment phase, encompassing ongoing support, education, and coordination of care to ensure sustained well-being. You’ll collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and their families.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Assessment and Monitoring: Regularly assessing the patient’s progress and monitoring vital signs, symptoms, and overall well-being.
  • Medication Management:  Prescribing and managing medications to alleviate pain, control symptoms, and support the recovery process.
  • Patient education: Providing patients and their families with information about the recovery process, self-care, and any necessary lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Working closely with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize the patient’s care plan.
  • Follow-up Care: Conducting follow-up appointments to track recovery milestones, address any concerns and make necessary adjustments to the treatment plan.
  • Emotional Support:  Offering emotional support and addressing any mental health aspects related to recovery, such as anxiety or depression.

Your qualifications should include:

·       Master’s degree, or Doctorate degree as a Nurse Practitioner

·       Three years of clinical experience

·       Current California RN license

·       Current California Nurse Practitioner license

·       Current California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing license.

·       DEA expected within 6 months of hire.

·       National Nurse Practitioner Board Certification thorough accrediting body

·       Specialty certification as defined/required for role.

·       Current BLS certification through American Heart Association

·       Current ACLS certification through American Heart Association
