The successful candidate:
Lead, coach, and develop maintenance and engineering staff through ongoing feedback and documented career development plans.
Promote and integrate the organization’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Behaviors (MVVBs) into daily operations and employee engagement.
Implement lean practices within departmental initiatives and staff workflows.
Establish, monitor, and report KPIs and departmental goals to leadership.
Supervise maintenance teams, prioritize workloads, and balance short- and long-term operational needs.
Manage employee relations, oversee hiring, and ensure a productive, accountable work environment.
Select, manage, and oversee contractors and vendors for repairs, preventive maintenance, and capital projects.
Ensure contracted services are performed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
Conduct regular facility and grounds inspections to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Maintain life safety testing records, Joint Commission documentation, EOC plans, and emergency preparedness protocols.
Report unsafe conditions, system changes, shutdowns, and modifications to leadership and safety officers.
Develop, maintain, and enforce departmental policies and procedures.
Assist with annual budget preparation and manage departmental expenses and inventory.
Optimize equipment performance to reduce utility costs and minimize operational risk.
Ensure high staff productivity aligned with facility and operational requirements.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Business or Construction Management
Minimum Experience: 5–10 years of experience in plant operations or construction management
Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Healthcare Facility Management or a related certification
Preferred Experience: Hospital or healthcare facility experience
Skills/Abilities: Proven ability to lead and manage a team of maintenance engineers
Software: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
