The Executive Director, Strategic Contracting serves as authority for payer contracting strategy across all City of Hope entities. The Executive Director will establish system-wide network strategy across California and CAP markets, partner with internal stakeholders to ensure contract execution and enforcement, and act as a relationship leader between City of Hope and its payer partners to support relationship management, contracting, and negotiations.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Develop payer and pricing strategy in collaboration with organizational leaders.
Evaluate the performance of each contract, determine negotiation timeline for negotiations and prioritize new contract provisions to be included in contracts.
Enhance relationships with payers. Understand needs and future strategies of payer partners regarding products, pricing and new technology. Identify and establish new payer relationships to support community expansion and business development.
Negotiate payer agreement financial terms and language terms to increase reimbursement and enhance patient access to City of Hope National Medical Center, City of Hope Medical Foundation and City of Hope’s clinical practice network.
Lead COH payer contracting team for the enterprise including Patient Financial Services, Revenue Cycle, Legal and outside legal counsel to resolve contract disputes or large payment issues with payers. Collaborate with VP of Revenue Cycle on strategies for improving billing and collections with payers
Your qualifications should include:
Minimum Education:
Master’s degree in Business, Health, or Public Administration (MBA, MHA, MPH, MPA or related field) or Juris Doctor (JD) required.
Minimum Experience:
At least five years of experience negotiating managed care contracts
10 years of related experience
7 years of experience in management
