Job Responsibilities

The Environmental Services (EVS) Floor Care Technician is a member of the City of Hope Environmental Services team and is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and sanitary floor surfaces throughout the hospital. This role focuses primarily on floor care services, with additional custodial cleaning duties as needed to support departmental operations.

Responsibilities include operating floor care equipment and using appropriate tools, products, and supplies to perform tasks such as floor stripping, waxing, buffing, and refinishing, as well as routine cleaning. Additional duties may include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning light fixtures and furniture, and emptying trash in assigned areas. The goal of this role is to provide a safe, clean, and attractive environment for patients, visitors, and employees.

Minimum Job Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

Experience:

  • Floor care or custodial experience required

  • Healthcare Environmental Services experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to safely operate floor care equipment
