Dosimetrist II – Radiation Oncology (Irvine, CA)

As a Dosimetrist II, you will conduct CT simulations and create 3-dimensional computer-assisted treatment plans with minimal supervision from staff physicists. Your key duties include performing general patient dosimetry, handling hand calculations for external beam therapy, and managing irregularly shaped field calculations. Additionally, you will prepare data for Total Body Irradiation treatments, perform quality assurance on the treatment planning system, and carry out routine physics QA measurements, ensuring precise and safe radiation treatments for patients.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Independently assess the necessary dosimetry and physics requirements for fulfilling the physician’s prescription
- Recommend treatment strategies to the physician
- Contour normal tissues according to physician instructions.
- Perform CT and conventional simulation procedures
- Perform 2-D, 3-D, and IMRT treatment planning
- Digitize and import all beam shaping blocks at the completion of the simulation process
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 3 years as Certified Dosimetrist
- MDCB
