Pay Rate: $153.26 - $255.77 per hour

We have an exciting opportunity to join Diane Hammon our Chief Strategy Officer and works closely with the System Physician-in-Chief and Chief Scientific Officer.  The Director provides clinical and scientific perspective to all System Strategy Office work, products, and deliverables.    The Director, fosters collaboration, partnership and serves as a critical link within the system strategy office, and between it and the clinical and scientific faculty across all markets/ entities.   The Director assists in the development and implementation of the system integrated strategic plan by leading, co-leading, and/or facilitating detailed subject matter expert work streams, identifying the emerging trends in Cancer Care Delivery & Research which are pertinent for City of Hope to consider, identifying macro trends potential market disruptions which would impact the clinical and scientific assumptions of the system strategy.   In addition, the Director, contributes to the due diligence of new initiatives and growth strategies.

The Director, partners and collaborates with system and entity leadership, clinical and scientific chairs, division chairs and center leaders, influencing and facilitating culture change for the organization. The position is expected to exemplify and demonstrate the values and competencies of high customer service.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Assists in the development and implementation of the system integrated strategic plan by leading, co-leading, and/or facilitating detailed subject matter expert work streams.
  • Foster collaboration, partnership and serves as a critical link within the system strategy office, and between it and the clinical and scientific leaders across all markets/ entities.
  • Identify the emerging trends in Cancer Care Delivery & Research, identify macro trends and potential market disruptions which would impact the clinical and scientific assumptions of the system strategy.  
  • Assists in assessments of City of Hope’s system capabilities, identifying gaps and opportunities and developing recommendations to leadership.

Your qualifications should include: 

  • Doctor of Medicine.
  • Masters: Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration/ Public Health, JD, or related field. [Experience will be considered in lieu of Masters].
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience with five years in purposeful strategy, business planning within the healthcare/ life science sector
  • 5 years in a senior leadership role with responsibilities of leading organization wide cross-functional teams solving complex issues.
