With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn’t standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.
Position Summary
The Hematology unit provides comprehensive care to patients with hematologic malignancies such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. In addition, the unit also specializes in managing patients undergoing CAR T therapy and those participating in clinical research trials. The unit is equipped to diagnose, treat, and manage various blood-related cancers through a multidisciplinary approach. This opportunity is for full-time and designated for the night shift. This position is eligible for a night shift differential up to $6.50/hr and weekend differential up to $15.60/hr.

Your ability to effectively communicate, document, and integrate cultural, psychosocial, and spiritual needs into care plans will be key to delivering exceptional care.
The anticipated start date for this position is 11/3/25.

As a successful candidate, you will:
- Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Nurses in the Hematology unit conduct thorough assessments of patients with hematologic malignancies, including physical exams, review of medical history, and assessment of symptoms such as fatigue, bruising, and bleeding. They monitor vital signs, laboratory results, and response to treatment to detect any changes in patient status.
- Chemotherapy Administration: Nurses are responsible for administering chemotherapy and other systemic treatments according to established protocols and guidelines. They ensure accurate dosing, monitor for potential side effects, and provide supportive care to minimize treatment-related complications.
- Symptom Management: Nurses assess and manage symptoms associated with hematologic malignancies and their treatments, such as pain, nausea, anemia, and neutropenia. They administer medications, provide comfort measures, and educate patients on self-care techniques to improve symptom control and quality of life.
- Patient Education: Nurses play a crucial role in educating patients and their families about their diagnosis, treatment options, and potential side effects. They provide information on managing treatment-related symptoms, adhering to medication regimens, and accessing support services such as counseling, nutrition therapy, and financial assistance.
- Care Coordination: Nurses collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with hematologic malignancies. They coordinate appointments, diagnostic tests, and consultations with specialists, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the treatment process.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in Nursing is required
- Current California RN license
- Minimum of three (3) years related experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association
- Preferred experience - Oncology, Hematology, Intensive Care (ICU), Step Down (SDU)
