City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.
With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. As one of the world's leading centers for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, our team delivers excellence in transfusion and stem cell support. This is a Night shift position; 10:00 pm – 08:30 am (hours may vary); initial training hours may be conducted during day shift hours. Eligible for night shift differential.
Additional Note: This position requires flexibility to accommodate varying patient needs. Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. On-call responsibilities and mandatory overtime may also be necessary.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Performs a variety of complex laboratory tests and procedures according to prescribed protocols and assigned schedules. Completesprocedureswithinestablishedturnaroundtimes
- Performsqualitycontrolproceduresincludingpreventivemaintenance,calibrations,review of controls,andrecordsdataonappropriateforms. Supports and participates in the Quality Assurance efforts and Performance Improvement process.
- Utilizes standard laboratory equipment, and records and checks result for completeness and accuracy. Performs data entry of diagnostic information.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s Degree; Military applicants without a Bachelor’s degree with the approval of CDPH-LFS (California Department of Public Health – Laboratory Field Services)
- Minimum 2 years as a certified or licensed clinical laboratory scientist
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist(Highly Preferred: CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist) – MTA)
- Note: For candidates with < 2 years of experiences, may be considered for Clinical Laboratory Scientist I (Pay range: $43.17hr - $55.04/hr - $66.92/hr)
