Position Summary:
This Clerical Specialist will be assisting City of Hope Lennar Radiology Department in the Film Library. This position will perform data entry, reviews department audit reports, and makes necessary corrections, researches incomplete or unusual charges, maintains billing and activity reports, and assists in answering questions pertaining to the billing of Radiation Oncology and Radiation Physics procedures.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Performs charge entry and charge validation utilizing an automated and manual information system.
- Reviews operation of charging and billing systems, evaluating and taking action based on error reports, exception reports, and audit charges detail reports.
- Researches and assigns diagnosis codes as needed.Researches appropriate procedural coding of unusual exams.
- Interfaces with the Patient Accounting departments regarding inquiries into bills generated by Radiation Oncology.
- Participates in the implementation of coding and other developmental updates and projects.
- Maintains an adequate filing system allowing for quick retrieval of information.
- Interfaces with departmental information systems as related to the billing and activity record functions of the departments.
Your qualifications should include:
- High School or equivalent, Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements
- Three years related experience; skill in 10-key entry and general Personal Computer (PC) keyboard entry
