POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW - CAR T CANCER RESEARCH - 10032349
Duarte, CAJoin the forefront of groundbreaking research at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope, where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research.
The Chintan Parekh Lab is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on research projects focused on defining mechanisms underlying interactions between CAR T-cells and the bone marrow microenvironment. This project will use spectral flow cytometry, in vitro and in vivo CAR T-cell assays and gene knockdown, overexpression, and CRISPR knockout studies.
The lab focuses on mechanisms underlying human T-cell development and lymphoid leukemogenesis and the application of these mechanistic insights to the development of novel anti-cancer immunotherapy approaches, methods to improve T-cell recovery following bone marrow transplantation, and anti-leukemia therapies. They investigate cellular and molecular mechanisms via a combination of computational biology and functional in vitro and in vivo studies of human normal blood progenitor cells, immune cells, and leukemia cells. The lab delineates complex layers of biological regulation by integrating data from a wide range of studies, including transcriptomic, epigenomic, proteomic, T-cell receptor rearrangement sequencing, high dimensional spectral flow cytometry, in vitro organoid, and in vivo xenotransplantation assays. The Parekh lab is funded by R01 grants from the National Institute of Health and has publications in high impact journals like Nature Immunology and Immunity.
