The successful candidate:

***This is a PRN role.*** Shifts as needed.

The Medical Technologist and Medical Lab Technician is responsible for accurately performing a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests and reporting results within the expected turnaround time to assist healthcare providers deliver the most optimal patient outcomes. Maintains an understanding of the theory behind each of these laboratory procedures and has ability to identify and report problems. Performs, as assigned, all required equipment maintenance, calibration and quality control testing per departmental procedures.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience working in the laboratory.

Education: For MT- Baccalaureate Degree in one of the following:

Medical Technology (MT)

Medical Laboratory Science (MLS)

Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS)

Or Bachelor’s degree plus Certificate in Medical laboratory Science (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS), Medical Technology (MT), as recognized by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) is required.  An HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree.

For MLT- Associate’s degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program or U.S. military Medical Laboratory-training program.

Licensure

Certification: MLS or MLT certification (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB) Preferred at Hire or Required within 18 months of hire.
