The successful candidate:

Hours: 3 shifts per week from 7:00 pm - 7:30 am (every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation)

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a paraprofessional caregiver under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse. Assumes responsibility and accountability for activities of daily living, certain tests and procedures, environmental duties and other tasks as designated by his/her competency level. The PCT provide care for the age groups as defined in the scope of care.  The individual must possess strong organizational and excellent communication skills and be able to work independently and as a team.  The position requires interaction with patients, families, and a variety of personnel throughout the COH system and the community.  The individual who holds this position exemplifies the COH mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with COH Stem Cell Transplant and Cell Therapy Program policies and procedures.  

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Listed in good standing on Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry as a CNA

  • CPR card required

  • Computer skills including electronic health record, Outlook

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to support customer relations and communicate with other health care providers, employees, and the public. 

  • Ability to organize and be self-motivated
