As Vice President, Translational Portfolio & New Ventures, you will translate the strategic priorities of Hope Catalyst into a rigorous portfolio and operating model. You will establish execution plans, governance processes, milestones, decision points, resource requirements, and performance metrics for accelerator-supported programs while ensuring projects progress efficiently toward key value-inflection points. This highly visible leadership role provides end-to-end oversight of portfolio operations, from project intake and prioritization through translational development, external partnering, licensing, and new company formation.

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Lead the Hope Catalyst translational portfolio, overseeing programs from selection through commercialization, licensing, strategic partnerships, or company creation.
• Establish portfolio governance and stage-gate processes, including prioritization criteria, milestones, decision points, and advancement requirements.
• Develop and oversee integrated execution plans spanning scientific, clinical, regulatory, intellectual property, commercial, operational, and financial objectives.
• Drive execution excellence by proactively identifying risks, removing barriers, and ensuring programs remain on track to achieve critical milestones.
• Manage portfolio performance through executive reporting, KPI dashboards, budget oversight, resource allocation, and timeline management.
• Lead investment and prioritization decisions, recommending which programs should be accelerated, partnered, licensed, redirected, paused, or discontinued.
• Partner with investigators and scientific leaders to translate groundbreaking discoveries into viable product strategies and commercialization pathways.
• Lead new venture creation efforts, including company strategy, financing plans, investor engagement, and identification of leadership teams.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders across licensing, regulatory, legal, finance, clinical development, manufacturing, and business development functions.
• Build and expand relationships with investors, entrepreneurs, industry partners, and advisors to advance funding opportunities, partnerships, company creation, and patient impact.

Your qualifications should include:

• PhD with 15 years of relevant industry experience plus an MBA preferred; or a Master’s degree with an MBA and 20 years of relevant industry experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences industries.
• Proven success advancing biomedical innovations from discovery through development, partnering, licensing, or company formation.
• Deep understanding of translational science, drug development, regulatory strategy, intellectual property, and asset de-risking.
• Experience evaluating scientific programs for commercial potential, market opportunity, competitive differentiation, and investment readiness.
• Track record of collaborating with academic investigators, clinicians, entrepreneurs, investors, industry partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience developing milestone-driven plans, managing go/no-go decisions, and prioritizing investments based on objective criteria.
• Exceptional executive presence, communication skills, strategic judgment, and leadership capabilities within complex organizations.
• Experience in venture creation, venture capital, accelerator programs, biotech business development, or company formation strongly preferred.
• Established network within venture capital, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and innovation ecosystems preferred.
