Pay Rate: $55.37 - $92.47 per hour

Position Summary:

The Nurse Supervisor provides clinical and administrative leadership, in partnership with the Nurse Manager, to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centered infusion services. This role shares responsibility for oversight of Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), Sterile Processing Technicians, and Medical Assistants (MAs).

While primarily an administrative role, the Nurse Supervisor maintains a visible clinical presence, supporting staff and directly assisting with patient care as needed to promote workflow efficiency, clinical excellence, and patient satisfaction.

As a successful candidate, you will: 

Leadership & Operations

  • Partner with the Nurse Manager to oversee daily clinic operations and ensure efficient patient flow.

  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to RNs, LVNs, Sterile Processing Technicians, and Medical Assistants.

  • Assist with staff scheduling, timekeeping review, and coverage planning.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, orientation, training, and competency validation of clinical staff.

  • Promote a collaborative, professional, and accountable team culture.

  • Participate in budget monitoring, supply management, and resource allocation.

Clinical Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and infusion therapy standards.
  • Monitor adherence to infection control, sterile processing, and medication safety protocols.
  • Provide clinical guidance and real-time problem-solving for complex patient care situations.
  • Participate in hands-on patient care, including infusion therapy, vascular access support, patient education, and clinical assessments as needed.
  • Respond to adverse reactions and emergencies according to established protocols.

Quality & Compliance

  • Support quality improvement initiatives, audits, and performance improvement plans.
  • Review incident reports and participate in root cause analysis when appropriate.
  • Ensure documentation accuracy and compliance within the electronic medical record.
  • Maintain readiness for regulatory surveys and accreditation reviews.

Staff Development & Engagement

  • Conduct performance evaluations in collaboration with the Nurse Manager.
  • Coach and mentor staff to promote professional growth and clinical excellence.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate ongoing education initiatives.
  • Foster staff engagement and promote a culture of patient safety and service excellence.

Your qualifications should include: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in Nursing is required (for internal applicants - If hired before January 1, 2020: Graduate from nursing school with a diploma, Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing)

  • Current CA Registered Nurse

  • Minimum of 3 years of RN experience

  • BLS (through American Heart Association)

  • ONS Chemo/Bio Certificate (or obtain within 6 months of hire)

  • OCN certification (or to be obtained within 1 year of hire)

  • Preferred Experience - Experience with oversight of clinics and patient care in an Ambulatory Oncology setting, experience managing multidisciplinary clinical teams in an outpatient environment, and familiarity with chemotherapy/biotherapy administration standards and oncology regulatory requirements.
