Pay Rate: $61.65 - $89.4 per hour

City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.

With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn’t standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.

We are seeking an experienced Radiology Nurse to provide coverage for both our inpatient and outpatient setting. The Radiology Nurse assumes all responsibility and accountability for performing a variety of nursing functions that include scheduling, confirmation, intake, triage, assessment, identification of needs, planning, implementing appropriate interventions, documentation, evaluation, explanation of procedures, checking for and or obtaining consents, obtaining vitals, operating suction, oxygen, and power injectors and maintaining patients' comfort during radiographic procedures. The nurse is assigned to provide support and assistance during general anesthesia and deep sedation, administer medication and monitor patients during moderate sedation in Radiology for Outpatient, PET Scan, CT scan, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, Ultrasound, Interventional Radiology and X-ray. This position takes direction from Radiologists, and other physicians as well as the nurse manager and Director of Diagnostic Radiology to ensure that the procedures are carried out effectively and safely.

·       This is a full-time position – 4/10hr shifts with variable start times (0600 earliest, 0900 latest). Will require weekend call, and night call during the weekdays (will be paid stand by) Shifts will be distributed throughout the radiology department for multiple modality                   

As a successful candidate, you will:

The radiology nurse preps and assesses patients, assists with anesthesia induction, providing patient education including discharge instruction.

The radiology nurse will assist in coordinating the patient's schedule to ensure that all procedures are performed in a safe and efficient manner.

Addresses the psychosocial needs of the patient specifically in regards population specifics and acts as educator and resource person to patients and their families.

Complies with all safety procedures in operating equipment and applies principles of radiation safety in all radiological activities.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in nursing is required.
  • Three to five years related experience. (IR, ED, and/or Critical Care)
  • Current California Registered Nurse License
  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
  • Current ACLS certification from American Heart Association
