Reporting to the Director of HLA, the Administrative Lab Manager supports the mission of the HLA Laboratory through comprehensive administrative and operational management. This role oversees departmental budgets, reference laboratory billing, contracts, and clerical staff, and provides programmatic oversight for the Matched Unrelated Donor (MUD) Program. The position also serves as the primary systems support lead for Histotrac and other HLA laboratory information systems.

As a successful candidate, you will: 

  • Lead the administrative and operational support of the HLA Laboratory, partnering with leadership on budgeting, planning, and regulatory readiness
  • Serve as the go‑to expert for the Histotrac system, ensuring smooth system performance, updates, validation, and integration with other platforms
  • Oversee laboratory billing and financial processes, keeping charges, contracts, and documentation accurate and up to date
  • Support and develop a high‑performing team through coaching, training, and performance feedback
  • Help maintain strong quality and compliance standards by supporting QA activities and regulatory requirements related to laboratory systems and billing
  • Use data and reports to identify opportunities for improvement and drive efficiency across laboratory operations

Your qualifications should include: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 2 years experience with related administrative and project management responsibility, including experience implementing and managing technology applications OR 2 years experience in a hospital or laboratory environment. Understanding of healthcare and/or laboratory operations.Minimum experience can be fulfilled with advanced degrees (e.g. MBA, Master or similar).

Additional Information: 

  • Hourly Pay Range: $45.37 - $75.77
